Dental School Tuition, Fees and Funding
Tuition is one of the hardest things to compare across countries, and in dentistry tuition is often only part of the cost. These are the rules we follow so that the figures you see mean what they say.

The original currency is authoritative
Every amount is shown in the currency the school publishes. We do not convert by default; any converted figure would name its exchange-rate source and date and be labelled approximate, with the original kept beside it.
Basis and category are part of the figure
- Basis: per academic year, semester, term, month, credit, or for the whole program. A per-year figure is never compared with a whole-program total, and figures with different bases are never added together.
- Category: fees often depend on citizenship, residency, EU/EEA status, or whether a place is state-funded or self-funded. We record the category and the school's own eligibility rule.
- Academic year and stage: when fees differ for preclinical and clinical years, both are recorded.
Instruments, laboratory work and clinical costs
Dental programs commonly charge for things that a general tuition figure does not cover: an instrument kit, handpieces, materials, laboratory or phantom-head fees, protective equipment, insurance and clinical consumables. We never assume that tuition includes any of these. Instrument and laboratory fees are recorded as their own items, with amount, currency, basis and whether they are mandatory — and where a school does not say, the profile shows “not verified” rather than leaving the cost out silently.
Tuition is not the whole cost
Mandatory fees, deposits, insurance, clinical-stage charges, required travel and living costs are recorded separately when published, never folded into tuition. Refund conditions for deposits are recorded as published.
Funding
Scholarships and grants are recorded with their eligibility, amount, duration and whether they are guaranteed for everyone who meets stated criteria or awarded competitively.
